Characteristics of Children at Risk for Whom Protective and Supportive Measures are Taken and the Reasons for the Measures: A Retrospective Study

Objective: This study aims to identify the characteristics of children at risk for whom protective and supportive measures are taken reasons measures. Material Methods: In this retrospective study, by in Burdur Family Court between years 2012-2017 were examined. Before ethics approval permission from City Public Prosecutor's Office obtained. Data collected through a data collection form developed researcher reviewing final measure decision files retrospectively (n=270). analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. Results: The average age 12.7±5.2 years, 53.7% them males. most frequently included care measures, consultancy urgent protection decisions, respectively. An mainly decisions girls, boys. common being an unaccompanied asylum seeker child, sexual abuse, running away home. While girls due abuse home, boys child involved crime. Conclusion: is one scarce studies that analyzed Turkey. results provide regarding groups professionals working with children.
